The project “The economic cooperation between Vietnam and EU” under the program “The fundamental problems of economic development in Vietnam till 2020” is directed by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan and implemented by Institute for European Studies – Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in the period 5/2007 – 5/2009.
The objectives of the project
Clarifying the theoretical basis and building the scientific - practical foundation for planning economic strategy between Vietnam and EU till 2015 by assessing the actual situation of the economic cooperation between Vietnam and EU in the last 10 years (1995-2005). Particularly:
- Evaluating the actual situation of the development of economic cooperation betweenVietnam and EU during the period of 1995 – 2005: Achievements and problems incurred in developing the economic cooperation between Vietnam and EU, advantages and disadvantages and causes.
Clarifying the international context and determinants affecting the relationship, based on that developing a strategy for economic relations between Vietnam and EU to 2015, solutions and policy recommendations.
Contributing to the training activities for undergraduate and post graduate study on the subject International relations and Foreign economic relations in general, especially to train experts in EU market and Asia – Europe relations.
The main contents of the research:
Part 1: Theories and practice of the development of economic relations between Vietnamand the EU
Part 2: The current situation of economic cooperation between Vietnam and the EU during 1995-2005
Part 3: Orientations and solutions to promote the economic cooperation between Vietnamand the EU till 2015.
The project “Economic cooperation between Vietnam and EU” was checked and taken over at the State level in 2009.
