European Union in 2019: Efforts to overcome crisis and stagnate, looking forward to reforms and development

Abstract: From 2009 to the present, the EU is entering the most difficult period in its history when it has been facing a series of great crises such as the public debt crisis, terrorism, migration, Brexit, etc., which has led to a series of consequences such as the rise of nationalism, populism, internal conflicts, the decline of the EU's role in the international arena, even leading to crisis of development model in the future. In that situation, the EU has introduced profound and comprehensive reforms in all areas, in order to keep the stability for development. The paper looks back on the EU’s situation in 2019: economic growth slowed down; politics faced many long-lasting difficulties such as Brexit, populism, European distrust, etc., but its national security has become more autonomous and independent, the whole region is looking forward to profound and comprehensive reforms in the future.

The East Sea in political calculations of China, the United States and Russia

Tóm tắt: Tranh chấp trong khu vực Biển Đông - Việt Nam đang là một vấn đề quốc tế nóng bỏng, thu hút sự quan tâm và tham gia ở nhiều cấp độ của các cường quốc trên thế giới. Chính điều này đã định hình nên một “ván bài” mới trên Biển Đông, mà tại đó, các cường quốc, với các tính toán khác nhau về lợi ích, sẽ hoạch định và triển khai những chiến lược vừa mang tính dài hơi vừa có sự thay đổi linh hoạt, phù hợp với động thái của các nhân tố liên quan. Mặc dù mỗi quốc gia sẽ có những mục tiêu khác nhau, ở những cấp độ khác nhau, cách thức thực hiện cũng khác nhau, nhưng các cường quốc đều có điểm chung là đang hướng tới các mục tiêu về mặt chiến lược. Bài viết đưa đến một bức tranh đa dạng các mảng màu khác nhau trong toan tính chính trị Biển Đông của Mỹ, Trung Quốc và Nga tại một trong những khu vực sôi động và giàu tiềm năng nhất trên thế giới hiện nay. Từ thực tế đó bài viết đưa ra một vài nhận thức trường hợp Việt Nam trước những tác động toan tính chính trị Biển Đông của các nước lớn.

Economic situation of the EU in 2019 and its prospects for 2020

Abstract: The economic picture of the EU in 2019 is not bright when growth is slow, the inflation rate remains below the target of the ECB. However, panoramic view of 2019 is the 7th consecutive year of regional economic growth due to the positive support from factors such as: the trade exchange is still a solid pillar, the unemployment rate remains at record low, budget deficit and government debt are falling to a safe level, monetary policy is adjusted flexibly. In 2020, the world instability resulted from trade conflicts between the US-China, US-EU or the Covid-19 as well as internal instability from the EU such as: the Brexit, political changes in Spain, Italy, etc, which will greatly affect the economy of the region. According to many organizations and experts, the EU economy will maintain the growth momentum but at a low level.

French economy in 2019

Abstract: In 2019, France faced many difficulties in both economic and social issues. Besides, there were many obstacles from the outside. These factors have greatly affected the growth of France. However, thanks to the Government's efforts, France's GDP still reached 1.2% in 2019 with the main contribution from important areas. Some sectors such as trade and investment still maintained the growth speed. In 2020, France will continue with the existing measures, and actively exploit the internal resources to maintain the growth rate of economy as in 2019. From the growth of France in 2019, the article has drawn some lessons for Vietnam in the context of increasing protectionism.

Russia - India strategic cooperation in recent years: Achievements and limitations

Abstract: During the Cold War, relations between the Soviet Union and India flourished, built on the basis of mutual trust. The signing of the Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation between the Soviet Union and India in August 1971 was an important mark of Soviet-Indian friendship. Since becoming each other's strategic partners in 2000, the two countries have increasingly focused on preserving and developing this traditional relationship. Russia-India relations are becoming more and more important for Russia's “return to the East” policy as well as in the current foreign policy of India. The paper focuses on analyzing Russia-India cooperation in recent years in the fields of politics, economics, national security and some other fields, commenting on the challenges that are posing to the two countries which affects the development of this relationship in the future

The Spanish fighting in the revolutionary war of the British colonies in North America (1775-1783)

Abstract: The revolutionary war of the British colonies in North America was the first struggle of the Western Hemisphere people against an European state - Britain. It drew the attention of many countries in the old continent with different motives and purposes. Taking advantage of the internal division within the British empire, Spain set a goal to reclaim the lost things from British hands in previous wars. Therefore, military solutions were prioritized. Based on the foreign materials, the paper presents Spanish efforts to gain her objectives through military operations.

Pension system in Germany and lessons for Vietnam

Abstract: Due to the fluctuations of the economy and the population aging, Germany pension system, one of the most generous system become outdated and in the urgent need for reforms. German system has gone through many reforms which are increasing the retirement age, adjustments to the pension benefit formula, reducing the replacement rate of the public pension scheme and promoting the use of private pension instead. The reforms of Germany pension system provide good lessons for Vietnam, especially when it has some similar circumstances of population aging and the limited use of private sector pension scheme.

The human resources development of teachers of some countries and lessons for Vietnam

Abstract: The development of human resources in general, the development of human resources teachers in particular has an important position and become the strategy of many countries in the world. Within this article, the author introduces the experience of developing human resources trainers of several countries that have advanced modern university education, with characteristics and conditions similar to Vietnam. From these experiences, the paper draws some lessons that may apply in Vietnam in the context of promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration.
