Project “Strengthening Vietnam- EU collaboration in CDM implementation in Vietnam for the period 2010- 2020” responsible by Institute for European Studies and Research Centre for Global Management Issues (Leuven University - Belgium)
Objectives of the project “Strengthening Vietnam- EU collaboration in CDM implementation in Vietnam for the period 2010- 2020” are:
+ Assessing the current state of Vietnamese policy in this area, doing research on the EU’s experiences in policy implementation of “green economy” in which clean technologies is the motivation as well as the EU’s experiences, being considered as the largest investor for CDM projects in developing countries. From this, drawing lessons for Vietnam in the rapid industrialization and sustainable development and in improving mechanisms in harmonious combination between the role of the State and market to promote CDM projects.
+ Improving policies related to CDM in order to create favorable conditions for the deployment of CDM in Vietnam under the market mechanism and the participation to the global market;
+Strengthening the collaboration between Vietnam and EU countries to develop CDM project in the period from 2010 to 2020.
The research activities of the project:
1. The role of the EU in the global CDM strategy
2. Experience of the EU in implementing CDM in Asia and Southeast Asia;
3. Current situation of CDM policy implementation policy CDM implementation in Vietnam (CDM under macro-perspective);
4. CDM implementation process of the enterprises (CDM under the micro-perspective);
5. Prospects for development cooperation of CDM between Vietnam and EU till 2020.
