A delegation of the Institute for European Studies visits Greece

On 11th - 16th November 2019, a delegation of the Institute for European Studies led by Assoc. Dr. Nguyen An Ha – director and Assoc. Dr. Dang Minh Duc – deputy director had a work trip to Greece, visited:

  • Aristotle University of Thessaloniki: the delegation worked with Prof. Stella Kostopoulou; Mrs. Helen Baxevanidou – Head of International Relation Department to dicuss the topic entitled “Regional development and tourism policies at the national and European level”. The representative of Univeristy also introduced the Erasmus Foundation on reseach and training programs for students and scientists inside and outside the European Union to exchange research and teaching in Europe and other countries. In Asia, a number of countries have signed up to participate in this program such as China, Thailand, and Singapore.
  • International Hellenic University: worked with Prof. Dimitrios Aiodonis – Value Chain Management Department; Prof. Dimitris Triantaflylou – Division of Supply Chain Management to discuss the following topics: The common agricultural policy (CAP) and the role of Greece; Agricultural insurance and Social insurance policies for Greek farmers; Short supply chains and agricultural value chains. Delegation also had a meeting with Deputy Mayor of Katerini City, Mr. Georgios D.Ntantamis. Deputy Mayor Georgios welcomed delegation and provided the key information about the city, the potential for tourism development and explored opportunities for tourism development cooperation with Vietnam.
  • Hellenic Migration Policy Institute (IMEPO): Delegation worked with Prof. Alexandros Zavos – President of IMEPO and IMEPO experts to disscuss the topic entitled "European migration issues and the Greek polices on regional structures and linkages within the European Community", especially the important issues, such as: public debt crisis in Greece, immigration crisis in Europe and so on.

The work trip ended successfully, the delegation of Institute for European Studies and its partners promised to sign MOUs soon to deploy many cooperation opportunities between the two sides in the near future.
